Choose cutting parameters correctly
Wire parameters, water parameters, and electrical parameters should be reasonably controlled and adjusted during wire cut EDM machine processing.
When the tension of the electrode wire is large, the amplitude of its vibration is reduced, the discharge efficiency is relatively improved, and the cutting speed can be increased. High speed of electrode wire can reduce the chance of wire breakage and short circuit, and increase the cutting speed, but too high will increase the vibration of the electrode wire and affect the cutting speed. In order to ensure that the workpiece has higher machining accuracy and surface quality, the wire speed and wire tension parameters provided by the machine tool manufacturer can be appropriately increased.

Increasing the pressure and flow rate of the working fluid makes it easier to discharge the ablated materials, which can increase the cutting speed. However, if it is too high, it will cause the electrode wire to vibrate, affect the cutting speed, and maintain the laminar flow to the limit.
Short pulse width, high peak current, and positive polarity processing are widely used in rough machining. The ultra-short pulse width (hundred nanoseconds) and single pulse energy (a few microjoules) are used for finishing, which can significantly improve the quality of the processed surface.
In addition, a stable power supply voltage should be maintained. Unstable power supply voltage will result in instability at both ends of the electrode and the workpiece, which will cause instability in the breakdown discharge process and affect the processing quality of the workpiece.
Control the distance between the upper wire guide and the workpiece
